Crime Stoppers and Grenville OPP Officers are looking to the public for help in solving the intentional vandalism done to numerous tombstones at the Carpenter Cemetery in Augusta Township. During the first week of August 2007, suspects entered the cemetery, located on Carpenter Road, just west of Algonquin Road, and broke at least 15 tombstones and pulled at least 10 out of the ground. Some of the stones dated back to the 1880. Due to the historic value of the stones, the cost to repair, if even possible, is difficult to quantify.
