Break-In and Golf Carts Damaged Prescott Area

Crime Stoppers and the Ontario Provincial Police need your help to solve a break-in and damage caused to property owned by the Prescott Golf Course.

In the days prior to and on December 16th 2008, the cart storage barn located at 1678 County Road 2 in Augusta Township, was broken into and culprits damaged over twenty carts.

Entry was gained through the rear door which had been forced open. The golf cart ignitions were tampered with and the carts driven into a nearby cornfield.

A witness stated the suspects appeared to be wearing masks.

Eleven carts were taken from the barn and scattered throughout the property. Twelve were totally destroyed; and one had a swastika spray painted on it.

Replacement costs for the golf carts is estimated at $100,000.
