Armed Robberies July & August, 2008

Crime Stoppers, the Ontario Provincial Police and Tyendinaga Police Service are asking for your assistance in solving a series of armed robberies that occurred between July and August 2008.

The Napanee area has had a single suspect rob convenience stores and gas bars just prior to closing. The male suspect seen wearing a balaclava would enter, flash a handgun and demand money from the store clerk. The suspect then fled in a vehicle with cash ranging from $86.00 to $1600.00; except for the last robbery, where the suspect ran out without cash after being grabbed by the owner. These stores targeted in the crime spree included:

· 12 July 08 Munroe’s General Store on County Road 2 in Napanee.
· 18 July 08 Skyway Convenience Store, Bayshore Road in Tyendinaga.
· 30 July 08 Camden Variety Store on Camden Road in Napanee.
· 10 August 08 Mike’s Sunoco at Highway 49 in Tyendinaga Township.
· 14 August 08 Hart’s Garage on County Road 41 in Roblin.

The robbery suspect is described as being 5 ’8” – 5 ’10” tall, thin, wearing a black t-shirt and a black home-made balaclava, he appears to be balding on the top of his head.
